  2. Hi.

This is my first time to your site and I’m intrigued by the whole concept. I want to take my elderly mom on a trip to Hawaii (her bucket list) and this might bd the way to do it.
Question: how does this churning affect your credit rating? My FICO score is over 800 and id like to keep it that way!

  3. Thanks for visiting my site! Credit card churning has both short-term and long-term affects on your credit score. In the short-term, every card application will lower your credit score 2-3 points. However, in the long run, it can actually boost your credit score significantly for many different reasons.

My score dropped from 800+ to ~750 in the first half year but towards the second half, went back up and above where I started.. but that’s after applying for 10+ credit cards. If you apply for 1-2 cards every 3 months, it’s not going to have much impact if you are diligent about paying back your balance in full.

If you live in the west coast, the best flight redemption to Hawaii is with 25k Avios points which you can earn from Chase BA, Chase Sapphire, Chase Ink, AMEX Platinum, AMEX Everyday Preferred, AMEX SPG, and a few others.
